Negative: There should be more water in the rooms, 3 small bottles per day for 2 people is not nearly enough, especially considering the weather. Hotel staff knocked on our door morning and night, even when we had the Do Not Disturb sign on. Less of that would have been great. Also waiting staff tried selling events all the time, too pushy. Same with the staff in the lobby trying to sell memberships.
Summary: It was lovely, quiet and romantic.

Positive: We visited Huatulco and the Secrets resort for our 15th wedding anniversary. We had a nice time. There is an adequate workout room, which we used several times. It is clean and well-tended. The staff was awesome throughout the resort. We ate at the Market Cafe (international buffet) on many occasions and would give a particular shout-out of appreciation to Chef Carlos May, Chef Juan de Dios, Cap. Nemorio Cruz, Hostess Alendra and Tonia, Giovanna and Yanileth, who made each experience exceptional.
Negative: We did not care for the restaurants all that much. We had mediocre meals at the Castaways, Bourdeaux and Spice. The Mexican restaurant (Tamarindo) was an exception; we had two delightful means at Tamarindo. The menu reflects local cuisine, which was well-prepared and delicious. We did not know in advance that there was a strong rip tide at the beach, which kept most people from taking a casual plunge when it was hot. We informed the resort in advance that we were celebrating out 15th wedding anniversary; despite their message to us that they "have flagged [our] reservation as Anniversary" they did not acknowledge our celebration in any way while we were at the resort. Check in took a little longer than I would have preferred, with the apparently obligatory meeting with the sales and marketing team.

Positive: The beach is beautiful. Employees are very pleasant and eager to help. I like the Italian restaurant and the seafood restaurant! Service was very good. Like the room service. Place was kept neat and clean enjoy toiletries. Like the apples and cookies in the front offices.
Negative: A couple of nights there was a foul odor outside our room. The toilet area doesn’t offer enough privacy. The glass doors has sections that are see through , I was told that after 30 minutes inattended beach or pool beds will become available. Belongings will be place at lost and found. Many beds are left with towels and are unused. They were never made available for guests.
